Pregnancy Week 12

Baby Bump

How far along? 12 Weeks, 5 Days

Size of the baby: Peach
Maternity clothes? I actually fit into my skinny jeans the other day, but it was not the most comfortable thing in the world... so I've been wearing my stretchy lululemon pants A LOT.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Slightly more energy this week, but I still am ready for bed by 8pm.
Symptoms: Nausea (especially at night!), headaches, mood swings, stuffy nose!
Best moment this week: Telling our friends all about you!!!! (And seeing you on Ultrasound again!)

Have you told family and friends:  Yes!  The whole world knows now :)
Miss Anything? My energy.
Food cravings: Ice cream, carrots dipped in salsa, Campbell's chicken noodle soup.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of fish
Have you started to show yet: Maybe a tiny little bump!
Gender prediction: I think it’s a girl!
Belly Button in or out? Innie!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy with a large side of moody.  Sorry Jake, I love you.
Looking forward to: That "second trimester energy" they all talk about.
Still Running? This week was a challenging week for me physically.  Motivation was low and I was fighting a few aches & pains.  However, once I get myself out of the door I usually feel so much better! I managed to run 4 days (ranging from 3-7 miles) and the other days I did the elliptical.  :)
Letter to Baby

Dear Baby,

Can you believe you are already the size of a peach?  I seems like just yesterday you were a little poppy seed!  This week was a big week for you.  Your reflexes are starting to work which means you're waving, jumping, and kicking up a storm in there.
I really hope you're comfortable! I was thinking this week about how it must feel for you to be jostled all over the place while I'm running. Hopefully it soothes you to sleep and doesn't turn you into an adrenaline junkie!

Your Dad and I had a very big week!  We told the world all about you!  You already have TONS of people who are going to love you forever, and you don't even know it.  We are all so excited to meet you.  We also got to see your adorable face on ultrasound again this week!  You are either going to be a gymnast, soccer player, or runner (hopefully the last option so you can hang out with mom) because you couldn't stop jumping up and down, kicking your little legs, and squirming around!  We heard your heartbeat for the first time and I turned into THAT mom. You, know the one that gets all teary and weepy? You're such an amazing little miracle, I couldn't help it!

The last big excitement for the week... we moved into our new house!  It will be your first home (and hopefully last for a long time!).  I'll tell you one thing baby... moving and being pregnant with you is no walk in the park.  I didn't know it was possible to be so tired!  That's okay though, soon enough we'll be settled and starting to get your nursery ready!  We're. So. Excited.

We love you to the moon, and keep doing that thing you do!

Love, Mom

The Way to My Heart.

When Jake and I were in Vermont, we visited the most amazing place on earth.

The Ben and Jerry's Factory.

Four dollars got us a tour of the awesome facility where all the magic happens and a delicious scoop of ice cream at the end. There is an actual job at the factory that involves tasting ice cream all day aka quality assurance. And they call Disneyland the happiest place on earth... Ha!

Sorry this is the blurriest picture in history.  This room is where dreams come true.

I was truly tempted to do the tour twice, but Jake convinced me to get a delicious Greek yogurt smoothie and he got an ice cream cone. A good decision!

One of my favorite parts of the facility was the Flavor Graveyard.

I'm really sad these flavors no longer exist.

I would eat this because of the name alone!
Macadamia Nuts with chocolate and white chocolate swirl?  Dream come true.
This I can understand being "deceased"...

I don't know what it is about pregnancy, but it truly makes you want to eat ice cream 3 times/day.  Take the other day for example....

You know you have an amazing husband when he comes home with this:

Phish Food Froyo won the award.  And if you were wondering, I didn't eat them all in one sitting.  It was tempting, but with all that deliciousness you need to make it last as long as possible!

If you have a fave ice cream you want to share... please let me know! I am in the market :)
